“Wired Up” /”Bye Bye Bad Days” - Hector

MarsHottentot Jul 17 2014
“Glam Rock Fuzz Bomb of Thee Hi-est Order. The drums boomboombapboomboombap at a fast clip, the guitars burst with snarling 'rock'n'roll' energy, the singer belts out his order to all the young doodz to "Rock Out!" and the coup de grace of the synth nonsense make "Wired Up" probably one of the best glam tracks ever. The track is raw, sloppy, but man, is it powerful!
The b-side, "Bye Bye Bad Days" tells the whole deal as to why glam even existed: Britain in the early seventies sucked so hard everybody wanted to retreat to a fantasy fifties playground of an all permissive rock utopia without any hippie activist hang ups and artistic pretensions. Fuck all that - that was glam and that's exactly what this song is championing - a return to innocence (well, an avoidance of a shit future adulthood in England, really).
